This is looking like the biggest betting tournament ever in the history of gambling and there are so many bets to have that it is going to be a great time to try and steal some money from the bookies.

So lets start at the top and the first bet is to LAY SPAIN to win the tournament. At around 4/1 to lay this looks like a rock solid bet to have. They may be the favourites but favourites don’t tend to do well and there passage to the final has loads of tough games.

The next bet is to LAY ITALY! Returning champions have a serious bad record in World Cups and laying Italy is tantamount to buying money at 11/1.

A good fun bet is to back several players for the ‘Golden Boot’ ie the top scorer in the tournament. This is usually tied to the team you fancy to do well so have several as this will keep your excitement running. We fancy KAKA (16/1), ARJEN ROBBEN (22/1), FRANK LAMPARD (50/1), THIERY HENRY (80/1), JULIO CESAR (80/1).

Some other interesting bets SOUTH AFRICA must be worth a small bet to qualify for the knock outs (15/8) since host nations tend to do well.

JAPAN played well against England and they maybe worth a small bet to qualify for the knock out stage as well.

Playing on a new continent means that the old adage Europeans win World Cup in Europe and South Americans win tournament in the Americas may not apply so try a small bet on a AFRICAN country winning the tournament at 16/1 means that if there is a surprise team it will give you enough room to sell the bet later on and lock in a profit. Add to this SOUTH AMERICA to have the World Champion at 9/4 is a good bet too.

Add to this little bets should be HOLLAND  to win the World Cup. They have a history of doing well and as Spain did in the European of laying the ghost of not preforming on the big stage. They could do the honours and win the title at last (10/1).

The scenario of a hung parliament is looming large and Thursday TV debate is a big chance for David Cameron to get his election bandwagon on the track again. Therefore the bets to look at seriously are these:

Liberal Democrats to get 70 or more seats 8/15 – their vote may not reach the dizzy heights of being the largest party but I cannot see them not getting a lot of seats. So 8/15 must be almost a certainty, unless Nick Clegg gets caught in bed with a horse or something remarkable.

UKIP not to win a seat 4/11 - they are clearly not taking this election seriously so taking the 4/11 is so rock solid I would almost say you are buying money.

The Grand National will be won by Big Fella Thanks (fingers crossed), so onto some other good looking bets.

15/8 on no overall majority is such a great bet it must be snapped up.

and

The Green Party getting a seat looks a nailed on certainty, and, at 5/6 it’s not brilliant but it’s almost free money.

With only 3 favourites winning and 6 placing this has been a bookies benefit and really inless they make it more attractive for the punters I can see the bookies losing a lot of regular horse racing punters and they will have to rely on cartoon racing and numbers, which i think they would not mind.

Tips for Friday:

13:30 – Barizan

14:05 – Inventor

14:40 – Chartreux

15:20 – Imperial Commander

16:00 – Amicelli

16:40 – Radium

17:15 – Nikola

Well as predicted the prices of the favourite were so short, they were silly. We may not have provided the winners but we certainly steered you to those who were not going to win and in the scheme of things that is very important.

Todays tips

As I wrote on Tuesday, backing the favourites was not a good thing and this was reflected with only 1 winning and two other favourites getting into the first 3 in the races. So now the bookmakers have had all their Christmases’ and birthdays’ in one day do not expect any mercy and the prices on the all the horses will be super tight.

There is a trend to look for when betting at big meetings if the bookmakers are offering extravagant bonuses for punters to open new accounts be prepared for a lot of outsiders winning on that day!

Here are the Wednesday selection:

Weds 13:30 – Fabula

Weds 14:05 – Peddlers Cross

Weds 16:40 – Cross Appeal
